The Providence Foundation holds an annual Luncheon & Style Show every spring. The event includes a Bellini reception, amazing boutique shopping, and the chance to win great prizes. After the reception, the guests are treated to a wonderful champagne luncheon and style show, which features all the latest looks from Waco’s best boutiques. Neurosurgical Associates staff support and attend this function annually. You don’t want to miss out on all the fun!

Walk for Muscular Dystrophy

This past weekend on February 4th, our neurosurgical staff participated in a muscular dystrophy walk inside the Baylor indoor football stadium. The goal was exceeded by $2,686.83, which resulted in a total of $22,686.63. The proceeds from the walk benefited further research in addition to a summer camp for children ages 6-17. Congratulations on a very successful event!

What is a TENS machine?

The machine is called a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator (Tens). The machine works by passing a small electric current through pads attached to your skin in order to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. Tens is a non-invasive and safe nerve stimulation device designed to reduce both serious and prolonged pain. More information on the TENS machine can be found here.

Are your kids using electronic devices too much?
Recently, younger children are going to the doctor due to pain in their neck, wrists, and fingers because they are excessively using their electronics. When children play games or operate other electronic toys, they are often slouched in a chair with their head looking down at the device. This creates a lot of pressure that is being put on the head.
